Bribie Island Accommodation

Sunshine Coast - Bribie Island Hotels

For a beach holiday that isn’t packed with tourists, check out stunning Bribie Island. One third national park, this place is full of natural beauty. It also has a great surf beach, seaside shops and restaurants, bushwalks and even things to do at night, combined with a friendly coastal town feel. Plus it’s easy to get there – just cross the bridge. Accessible yet laidback and chilled, Bribie is a real find. Book your Bribie Island hotel with us!

The smallest of Moreton Bay’s main islands, Bribie was the traditional home of the Gubbi Gubbi people, whose diet included generous amounts of the local seafood. Pumicestone Passage, which separates the island from the mainland, is home to dugongs, turtles and dolphins. Like the wetlands that surround the island, it’s protected. Buckley’s Hole is an 87 hectare conservation park with a lagoon, woods, beach and over 250 species of birds.

Bribie’s beaches are great if you want to surf, swim or fish. Woorim Beach is the closest guarded surf beach to Brisbane, a long white stretch of sand with a surf club on the foreshore and op shops and cafes in the nearby streets. If fishing is more your style, Bribie Jetty at Bongaree is a popular place to cast your line from, with the chance to catch whiting, mackerel and mudcrabs.

If you want to cycle or walk, the Bribie Island Foreshore Trail is five whole kilometres of scenic beach and park sights leading from Banksia Beach to the Bongaree Jetty. Wander the Pumicestone Passage foreshore along Welsby Parade and soak up the atmosphere of shady trees and sea views. If 4 wheel driving gets your motor running, Bribie Island Recreation Area allows you to take it through the bush and beach! You can also check out a local arts and crafts gallery, play a game of golf at the Bribie Island Golf Club or head to the cinema.

Bribie has plenty of cool places to eat whether you want fish and chips on the beach, a café with a summer vibe or some Chinese or Thai. At night you can head out for a drink at Bribie RSL or the Bribie Island Hotel, which often has live music.

The suburbs around Bribie are also worth a visit. Take a day trip to Caboolture or Morayfield for mall shopping or Redcliffe for the beach! Wot are you waiting for? Book your Bribie Island accommodation with us and save! Just be careful – once you stay for a while, you may just want to retire here.
