Broome Destination guide

From beaches to brewery tours to strange natural wonders, there's plenty to see and do in Broome.

Broome is famous for its pearls, and you can find out how they're cultured on a tour of a pearl farm. If that doesn't excite you, there are plenty of other activities around. Visit a gallery filled with local and Indigenous art, ride a camel across the golden sands of Cable Beach or catch a movie at Sun Pictures Outdoor, the world's oldest picture garden. Or simply lay on the beach or go for a dip in the pool.

Visit between May and October to catch The Staircase to the Moon, when a full moon reflects on the mudflats at very low tide, creating the illusion of a staircase leading to the moon! You can watch this dreamlike event occur from The Staircase Markets at Town Beach while you shop for local cuisine and souvenirs.

Just 6kms from town, Gantheaume Point is home to red sandstone cliffs, a rock pool carved by a former lighthouse keeper for his wife to bathe in, and dinosaurs... or at least their remnants! 130 million-year-old dinosaur footprints can be spotted at very low tides! For sights that are a little out of the ordinary, Broome's your destination.
